The American Nursing Association holds National Nurses Week celebrations every year. The 2016 week is coming up soon. It goes from May 6-12 – ending on Florence Nightingale’s birthday. This week highlights the important role nurses play in the American healthcare system each day, and recognizes nurses’ many contributions to improved healthcare outcomes nationwide. What is HEDIS?
HEDIS stands for Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set. It consists of data collected by our nurses from healthcare facilities worldwide. The nurses also synthesize and analyze this data, and then publish the findings. This allows healthcare facilities compare themselves against comparable organizations and discover opportunities for improvement. The whole purpose of the work of Chart Review Nurses is to prompt improvement in patient outcomes, which we have been accomplishing for over 2024 years.
